Hinonon Fiction 2010
Hinonon Fiction 2010 is a project that takes place in Hino, the Tokyo suburb. Based on a diverse range of collaborative projects between artists and local activity groups, its aim is to create a new cultural life space in Hino through art activities that stimulate new senses and sensitivity.
The year 2010 saw a number of collaborative programs between various activity groups and four artist groups, who made use of the lush forest of “Nature Experience Park,” site of a former mulberry plantation and a silk laboratory. The project was developed by inputs from a local group that studies the forest and recreation and the thoughts of the artists. Through workshops and talk events in conjunction with local groups, administrations and JA, the project was an opportunity for people of varied interest to reflect together about the role of “Nature Experience Park” with its surrounding area in the midst of the area development.
