The Tokyo Condition
A Project by Daisuke Kishii

With the playwright Daisuke Kishii, this program holds workshops to nurture the torchbearers of creative activity and carries out a theatrical performance tour with participants traveling to different locations throughout Tokyo. Daisuke Kishii intends to create an environment where not only artists, but also ordinary residents participate in creative activities, which is in itself an expressive activity by using the town as the stage. By holding workshops by Kishii, who has been successfully applying local resources to theatrical performances, this program designs to demonstrate that even though there are no money, space or expensive facilities, ideas and skills enable small but sustainable activities to happen. The program also aims at reinforcing community activities in various parts of Tokyo by increasing the number of opportunities for these types of activities.
