Artists in Jidokan

Artists in Jidokan is a program inviting artists to Jidokan, a daily playground for children.
Artists can use the Jidokan as“work space”for their creative and expressive activities. For children, however, artists are neither guests nor teachers. The creative and expressive activities of the artists and children’s games co-exist equally in Jidokan. Artists may find creative and expressive activities in children’s games. Children may find their games in artists’creation and expression. The purpose of this program is to create a place where children and artists meet through recreational activities, creation, and expression. For example, in“Shape of Words Factory”where“words”suggested by local people were given“shapes”using old clothes, children’s free imagination developed in their recreational activities coupled with artists’ creative and expressive capabilities gave birth to new forms of expression.
Co-Organizer: Artists in Jidokan Executive Committee
