La Folle Journee au JAPON Days of Enthusiasm Music Festival 2010 Collaborative projects

Outline
In collaboration with one of Japan’s hallmark classical music festivals, La Folle Journee au JAPON, this event offers workshops for children and open lessons for college students who are studying music. Also this year for the first time, La Folle Journee au JAPON “Days of Enthusiasm” Music Festival offers various programs in Marunouchi and vicinity as well as in Ikebukuro. One of the highlights of this event is a concert featuring one of the largest pipe organs in the world, installed at the rear center of the stage of the main hall of the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space.
Program for kids and youths
Children can participate in various music workshops called the Kid’s Program. These workshops offer opportunities for children to familiarize themselves with first-class musical performances. Masterclasses are available for young musicians such as college students who are studying music.
In addition, outreach activities are scheduled for elementary schools in Chiyoda-ku, prior to the Music Festival.

Kids’ Program
This program provides opportunities for children to be exposed to music for fun. Children will listen to live performances, dance to the music, and play musical instruments in various workshops. They can also enjoy craft workshops featuring music as the theme.

Outreach
Prior to the Music Festival, artists will visit elementary schools in Chiyoda-ku and offer music workshops. Elementary school and junior high school students in Chiyoda-ku will be invited to a public rehearsal held on April 30, the eve of the Festival.
Master Class
Open lessons given by artists participating in the paid Music Festival programs will be offered to students who are studying music.
