Public Symposium “Dialogue between Art and the Environment”

A Cross-sectoral Project between the Environment, Art and Education

Synopsis

Tokyo Wonder Site is an art center that provides a forum for projects and activities that examine the issue of how artists and creators can get involved with the various challenges faced by the modern society. In 2009, we will put the spotlight on environmental issues, and carry out a project transcending across the fields of environment, art and education. The project will comprise exhibitions and collaborative studio programs (workshops) with the environment as the main theme. Amid growing concerns over the climate change crisis caused by global warming, this project will tackle a myriad of issues, including how individuals engaged in art and culture can get involved with environmental problems, what sort of contributions they can make, and how they should communicate these issues to young people, who will lead the next generation.
