Synopsis

Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra
It is an international music festival aiming to contribute to the promotion of cultural exchange between Asian people, by focusing on Asian contemporary and traditional music. The main theme for the 2010 festival is “Japanese sounds and spirits.” The event provides a taste of Japanese culture which has developed over its long history while being influenced by Asian continental culture as well as looking into the cultural role of Japan as part of Asia and the world.
The festival is held as a celebration of the International Music Day (October 1) designated for promoting international mutual understanding through music, and as part of the Toyo Asian Month Celebratory events.
