Performing Arts Festival launching from Tokyo
Outlines
“Festival/Tokyo” is an International Festival of Performing Arts to be held in various cultural locations around Ikebukuro including the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space. Through international coproduction, the leading-edge creation is introduced to Japan in real time, and the works of the artists who attract people’s attention domestically are produced and presented to the world. The festival will also expand the outreach projects, including the programs in which the citizens can actively participate.

F/T Emerging Artists Program
The F/T Emerging Artists Program supports young artists/companies in presenting their independent performances. From autumn 2011 the program exceeds its frame providing a platform not only for works from Japan but also other from Asian countries.
Among the works presented in the F/T 11 Emerging Artists Program the most challenging performance will win the F/T Award.

F/T Award
The five jury members named below will view all performances of the "F/T 11 Emerging Artists Program" and award a prize to the outstanding work/artist. The award winner will be invited to present his/her work - the award winning performance or another work - after the F/T 12.

Tadashi Uchino (Theatre critic), Hidenaga Otori (Theatre critic), Hans-Thies Lehmann (Theater theorist, Theater critic), Masataka Matsuda (Playwright, director), Chiaki Soma (F/T Program director).
