Synopsis
In this workshop, under the direction of world-class performers including Za Ondekoza and the Bamboo Orchestra, children will create music with instruments they will make themselves from bamboo, wood, and rocks from the nature of suburbs in Tokyo. In the finale, they will join professional performers of Japanese drums and other ethnic instruments in the world music festival.

Outline
Children will experience how music can be created in a natural setting, listening to bubbling streams, the voice of the wind, and murmurs in the woods. They will also experience the joy of transforming rocks, bamboo, and wood into their own handcrafted musical instruments, and feel the beautiful sound of their motherland. By working together, children will organize an orchestra to prepare for a concert in which they will participate. On October 13, at the “Tomin Hiroba” adjoining the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, there will be a spectacular concert introducing their theme tune “Wind of the Earth, from Tokyo” as well as performances by professional musicians.
The entire month promises wonderful sounds of the earth and life.
