Up-and-coming group “faifai” with a happy aura and a top name in Thai theatre “B-Floor” will create a new form of Asian play.

This is the second collaborative project between Japanese and Thai theatres, following last year’s “Red Ogre” and “Farming Girl,” jointly produced with Bangkok Theater Network as a program to celebrate Hideki Noda’s inauguration as artistic director. In 2010, members of the young Japanese and Thai theatrical companies, B-Floor (Thailand) and faifai (Japan,) that perform so-called “physical theatre,” a form of performance that stresses physical expression, will work together, and their international collaboration will appear on stage.

This project started with Hideki Noda’s viewing of the Thai theatrical company B-Floor’s performance in Bangkok, Thailand and his idea of a collaboration between B-Floor and a Japanese company faifai, which is also an up-and-coming physical theatrical company.
In this international collaboration project, in addition to the new performance of the domestically and internationally respected company B-Floor, which will be presented for the first time in Japan, we will also present a special collaboration created for this project by faifai and B-Floor.
Because they will perform two different works (a collaborative work and a new work) in one space, this will be a very rare and valuable showcase by new Japanese and Thai artists.
