PRIVACY POLICY

Privacy Policy

The Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture (hereinafter referred to as “TMFHC”) acknowledges and understands that it is its important social responsibility to protect the personal information of its guests and visitors properly. TMFHC hereby strives for protecting and preserving personal information in accordance with the following privacy policy:


1. Acquisition of Personal Information

TMFHC shall specify the purpose of use, in principle, with prior notice or publication to acquire personal information. TMFHC shall acquire the personal information by legitimate and fair means, in principle, directly from the person.


2. Use of Personal Information

TMFHC shall use personal information within a limitation of the purpose of use indicated at the time of acquisition and in a scope necessary to conduct its business. In the case of entrusting the handling of the personal information to a third party, TMFHC shall execute an appropriate confidential agreement to clarify the confidential obligations and shall conduct necessary and proper supervision for it to make it sure that the personal information is properly secured and managed.


3. Provision of Personal Information to a Third Party

TMFHC shall not provide personal information to any third party, in principle, except
- with the prior consent of the guest or visitor, or
- where such provision is required or prescribed by the laws and regulations including, but not limited to, the Private Information Protection Law.


4. Management of Personal Information

TMFHC shall strive to maintain personal information in hand to be accurate in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations and shall take appropriate and effective measures for safe management of personal information by introducing proper security systems, including firewalls, into the personal computer terminals used by its officers and staffs to prevent the unauthorized access to personal information and the loss, destruction, falsification, divulgation, etc. of personal information.


5. Disclosure, Correction, Suspension of Use and Deletion of Personal Information

TMFHC shall promptly deal with the request by a guest or visitor to disclose, correct, suspend the use of, and/or delete, his or her own personal information. Please contact the following for details of the procedures for such requests and disclosures.

6. Notification of Matters relating to Personal Information in hand

TMFHC shall post the purpose of use, any amendment thereof of the personal information in hand (which means the list of the personal information prepared or acquired by its officers or staff for its business activity and used by TMFHC in the whole organization) or any matter relating to it as prescribed by the laws or the regulations of the foundation on our website (http://www.bh-project.jp).


7. Organization and System:

TMFHC shall appoint its vice-chairperson as a personal information manager to implement an appropriate management of the personal information. TMFHC shall assign a responsible person to handle the personal information at each business branch. TMFHC shall provide training to all officers and staff regarding the protection and proper management of personal information and make sure that personal information is handled properly in the course of daily businesses.


8. Establishment, Implementation and Improvement of Privacy Policy

TMFHC shall ensure that any and all officers and staff fully understand its Privacy Policy and shall implement, maintain and improve it when necessity in order to enhance the compliance of the above-mentioned policies.
